Ten Things You May Not Know About ATI

Welcome to Abstracts & Titles' blog page! If you're a Realtor or Banking Institution looking to become more informed about the title insurance industry then you're in the right place! If you are buying, selling or refinancing your home there may be a few things here for you as well!

Before we go any further...we'd like to take a moment to tell you a little bit about ourselves. We're going to call this introductory post:

Ten Things You May Not Know About Abstracts & Titles, Inc.

1) Abstracts & Titles, Inc. was founded in 1965.

2) Our company has one office dedicated strictly to title work. The downtown Edwardsville location is the 'main headquarters' of our operation and sends out the title commitments and policies.

3) If you have a property you are just listing and need to know the status of title before you sell, order the title work and don't pay until closing. If it does not close, you do not pay. We have had this policy for over 40 years with Realtors.

4) Voice mail does not exist at the main office. If you have a title question, you will always get a live person during normal business hours.

5) We have a in-house tracts program and database. Wherein, we have our own up to date index of the public records for Madison County which has been entered and maintained by Abstract's employees.

6) President and Vice President Susan J. Engelke and Linda Steele, respectively, have been with the company over 30 years.

7) We represent the largest title insurance underwriter in the United States.

8) Abstracts & Titles, Inc. supply copies of covenants and restrictions, upon request, for any order placed with us. Free of charge.

9) Our company insures properties located in Madison, St. Clair, Bond and Macoupin counties.

10) Our company has two escrow offices. One located in Glen Carbon, IL and one in Collinsville, IL. Our escrow officers have over 50 years combined closing experience.
